An exciting and rare opportunity to join a highly respected and regarded international insurer within a specialist field in a key and highly influential role.
Responsible for leading and managing the Product Protection business with product lines including GAP and Involuntary Unemployment covers the role will involve controlling business via account management; liaison with brokers and clients; analysis of underwriting and claims data and rating and modelling analysis via liaison with the analytical team. You will be responsible for implementing and driving risk underwriting methodologies and agreed standards and peer review, to ensure a consistent and methodical approach to individual and aggregate risk underwriting exposures. Additionally responsible for assisting in the creation and formulation of opportunities via binding authorities (DUA), master policy wordings, policy wordings and administration agreements you will control management of the loss ratio within delegated authority .
It needs someone who is capable of leading and implementing commercial underwriting strategies with a track record of developing, managing and implementing strategic relationships with all key distribution routes and the ability to undertake identification and analysis of potential and existing risk management issues, together with a calculation of possible exposures and mitigation strategies. You should also be able to demonstrate the ability to continually review, motivate develop and improve a team and to lead their learning and development strategies.
Experienced professional with extensive underwriting and technical experience in the GAP, creditor market, including pricing, risk analysis and mitigation. Experience of dealing with and influencing senior management and motivating a team as well as knowledge of project management tools and techniques and the ability to lead projects to successful implementation are also essential.
