An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading insurer based in their Essex office as a Commercial Combined Underwriter.


You will be responsible for underwriting and servicing allocated accounts for complex commercial combined risks as well as identifying new areas of potential business. You will need to review all risks ensuring quotes, endorsements and declarations are underwritten within the strategy of the division. You will be expected to contribute to the development of the five year business plan, act in accordance with FSA regulations and contribute to the strategic direction of the business.


The right individual will need to have an understanding of policy wordings, pricing, claims, compliance and have leadership and coaching skills. You will need to have an analytical ability backed up by sound commercial judgement and decision making, as well as good market knowledge.
