Our Essex based client currently have an opportunity for a Senior Claims Negotiator to help supervise a claims team of 13. This role will report directly into the Claims Manager and you will also be allocated a portfolio of Commercial Property work. Experience of handling Liability (EL/PL) and/or Motor claims would be an advantage. Previous supervisory experience is not a pre-requisite but would be useful.



Duties & Responsibilities


Handles a portfolio of larger and more complex property and liability claims.
Assists Claims Manager in the development of the technical capability of the claims team, which may include conducting Performance, Development and Competency Reviews and assisting in the recruitment process
Ensure effective and economic resolution of all claims handled within the unit, providing a technically efficient and accurate service.
Handle claims up to own authority levels and manage referrals from team members, offering technical coaching and guidance where appropriate.
Deal effectively and efficiently with complaints.
Contribute to the technical knowledge of the Company by feeding back technical and commercial market intelligence.
To undertake training in line with agreed objectives and keep up-to date with technical, legal and market developments via use of e-learning, internal training and reading market related material.
To maintain and develop personal knowledge and skills through continued professional development as well as ongoing at desk training and ensuring that this is recorded in line with Training & Competency requirements.
