A highly prestigious Lloyd's Syndicate based in the City have a new and exciting opportunity for a Claims Handler. Previous experience of handling Public Liability/Property/Personal Accident/Contingency claims would be an advantage. The successful candidate does not need to have covered all of these areas, but at least one of these classes of business and training wll be given with other classes if neccessary.



Technical / Job Specific Tasks:


Adjust liability claims from first notification to finalisation.
Correspond with claimant’s solicitors on a daily basis.
Appoint Solicitors and Loss Adjusters in accordance with company manuals and service standards.
Enter syndicate claims into mainframe system.
Liaising with Underwriters and other departments as required.
Adhering to the principle of Treating Customers fairly at all times.
Training will be given in adjusting non-liability claims, if necessary.



Skills Required:


Cross class experience in Public Liability / Property, Personal Accident and Contingency claims desirable.
Experience of liability claims adjusting in the Company/Lloyds Market.
Must have a working knowledge of the legal system in UK and Ireland.
Working knowledge of Lloyd’s and ECF an advantage.
Professional, conscientious, diligent and a focused personality, with a keen eye for detail.
Team player and used to working in a pressured, target driven environment.
Decisive and effective communicator.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
A good level of IT literacy, especially in Word and Excel, with PowerPoint an advantage.
Good understanding of insurance market dynamics and current claims legislation.
