Our client, a reputable insurance company, are looking for a Claims Inspector to work on a caseload of Personal Injury claims work. The role will be home based, and ideally the applicant will be based in the Midlands, Herts or North London. The job will entail investigating, case managing and progressing claims to optimal settlement, ensuring that service standards agreed with clients and other business areas are met whilst building and maintaining relationships with clients.
General Description
Policy, Process and Procedures
Investigate claims cases with a view to gathering information to enable a thorough and accurate investigation in order to accurately determine policy indemnity and legal liability.
Produce clear and concise reports on which the future management of the case will depend in order to make assumptions as to the most likely outcome at trial
Progress claims to optimal settlement within personal financial and authority limits to ensure claims are settled at optimum figures with minimal leakage.
Customer Focus
Deal with clients and other professional relationships in accordance with company service standards to maintain constructive relationships during the claims settlement process
Instruct solicitors and other external parties as appropriate to ensure fair settlement of claims.
Communicate key claims developments to clients so that they are kept fully informed on the progress of their claim.
Resolve claims efficiently and at optimum costs to ensure that the service meets standards agreed with the client and other business areas.
Technical Performance
Take responsibility for personal self development in addition to taking advantage of courses available through the Learning and Development plan to ensure have the appropriate skills in place to effectively perform role.
Be aware of, and respond positively to changes in the law that could affect the manner in which claims are dealt with.
Essential Requirements
Experience:
Broad experience of working in Insurance Claims
Experience of handling personal injury claims
Specialist knowledge and experience in appropriate area
Experience of accident/ disease investigation
Knowledge:
Ideally ACII qualified
Knowledge of MI creation techniques and software; creation of reports
Good working knowledge of IT
Understanding of Personal Injury claims, as identified in the appropriate Claims Academy matrix
