A highly respected insurance company based in Chelmsford have an exciting opportunity for a Claims Technician. Responsibilities will include assisting the claims adjusters, within the Liability and PI teams, with the day to day activities undertaken within a team of technical claims processors, ensuring that adequate data (payments, reserves, diary) are entered to satisfy senior management, compliance, FSA and internal audit guidelines.


Other responsibilities will include ensuring that all claims within designated area of responsibility are adequately reserved, paid and processed as per the technical claims handling manual. As well as this, you will ensure that diary dates are regularly maintained and to assist the claims adjusters in the review and chase up of these. There is an element of administration attached to this role as well (post matching, scanning, indexing, etc).


Essential Requirements

• Experience of administration and/or processing within a claims environment is essential.
• Good working knowledge of insurance claims systems and general claims procedures.
• Intermediate level understanding of Word and Excel.
• Basic understanding of insurance with specific reference to the relevant class of business.
• Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and work under pressure.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (both orally and in writing).
• Methodical.
• Good eye for detail.
