Our client, a Wiltshire based insurance company have an attractive opportunity to lead a team of five claims staff. The Claims Manager will report directly to the Directors and will also work closely with the Finance Controller.
The successful applicant will have a strong background in Claims and would have worked for an insurance company or a broker/intermediary handling claims.
The job is split into three parts:-
Firstly, you would manage the staff so a strong background in people skills is essential. Although our client have a trainer, it is essential that the person has a good eye for detail and ensures that the team are paying claims correctly & handling telephone calls efficiently.
The second part of the job is to make sure that any complaints are dealt with smoothly and efficiently. This will also involved speaking to the underwriters on an ongoing basis.
The third part is to ensure that the book is profitable so this will involve working with the financial controller regarding loss ratios, attending monthly underwriting meetings and meetings with the directors.
