Our client, a successful Insurance Company, have a new opening for a Liability Claims Handler to work on a six month contract basis. Your role will be to handle all Liability Claims within a set allocation in according with the laid down claim procedures and individual claims handling authorities. You will also be liaising with Claims inspectors and instructing solicitors in the investigation and negotiation of claims.



Key Result Areas/ Responsibilities


A. Customer Service
Responsible for providing the most effective and efficient claims service in terms of speed, customer care, quality control and cost. To work as part of the EL/PL Claims team ensuring service is delivered on time and to the highest standards, aiming to meet and exceed the expectations of both internal and external customers in all aspects of claims handling. To build and maintain client and broker relationships.

B. Organisation and prioritisation of work
Required to organise and control his/her work in an efficient manner, in accordance with the procedures. To be able to prioritise work on a daily basis in line with the Division’s strict service standards and to meet legal and regulatory timetables and requirements, in particular Civil Procedure Rules and Pre-Action Protocols.
Handling all UK EL/PL and Products Liability claims for the Liability Class of business, ranging from trip/slip/falls to large disease claims (asbestosis) and personal injury ranging from £1000 to £1m plus. Nature of claims involves consideration of complex legislation and extensive reference to HSE & Statute in determining degree of breach of regulation and assessment of contributory negligence by claimants.
The impact of increased regulation and the need to monitor and satisfy internal/external audit has seen the job role increase in terms of technical expertise, tighter workflow management and focus on quality control, speed of service and settlement of claim. The emphasis to ensure core principles and minimum standards and the need to be able to prove that we are complying is paramount


Experience Required


Liability Claims experience gained in a Syndicate or Insurance Company
Good all round Personal Injury claims knowledge
Work as part of a team and on own initiative
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
Investigation skills
Relationship building
Excellent customer service skills
Mature approach with commercial awareness
Be IT literate with fast, accurate data entry and processing skills
The ability to multi-task with a flexible approach
