An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and skilled financial engineer to work in the Solvency II implementation project of a FTSE 100 organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and validating the Insurer's Solvency II internal model in Algorithmics and making sure it is compliant with the European Directive's requirements.


Key responsibilities will include:
* translating the specification by the company's Policy Methodology working group into the Algorithmics software requirements
* defining functional scope within or outside of the Algorithmics product
* building a functional solution for the Group, and business and product areas
* producing through the system appropriate reports for the efficient Risk Management of the Organisation
* testing and documentation


Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
* Strong quantitative skills; Qualified Actuary of CFA
* Strong experience of Assets, liabilities and their attributes
* Strong experience of risk modelling
* Exposure or experience to curve fitting and or replication modelling
* Possibly have experience of CEIOPS or QIS
* Experience of economic capital
* Exposure or experience within market data, gathering, validating and defining of attributes and requirements
* Experience in a life insurance environment with With-Profits or Annuities background is preferred; experience in other risk-management organisations will also be useful.


This is a permanent opportunity and is middle office facing (requiring strong oral and written communication skills). Package is dependent upon experience plus there is a very competitive benefits package.
