Opportunity to join a highly respected international insurer within their prestigious City offices.
Providing a full reinsurance service to the UK Branch and co-operating/co-ordinating with the Head Office Reinsurance Department the role involves providing every assistance/support to the Head of Reinsurance.
The role involves providing timely and accurate feedback allowing the generation of reports required, the evaluation of the Department performance, and successful Business Plans. You will carry out risk audits as required, report to Head of Reinsurance and line management and make complete follow through for each case to ensure any system, personnel or file deficiencies are rectified and/or corrected as appropriate, be aware of the risk management and internal control framework, report any potential increases in risks, and any perceived need to review existing or create new risk mitigation measures, internal controls and processes at any time, and also assist with the preparation of any required supporting documentation.
Acting primarily as central collecting and collating office for all Treaty Reinsurance Information in London, including Underwriting information in respect of all lines of business within responsibilities, and claims department. Also for the relevant provision of such information to, and co-ordination with, Head Office.
Design and produce, in co-ordination with the Actuarial Dept. where appropriate, information reports and reporting systems that are necessary to meet the overall purpose of the job and which may also be used for monitoring and reviewing business written by Global Risk, (Exposures, risk & cat; portfolio & risk profiles, premiums etc.). Provide, as necessary, information, advice and support on any Reinsurance matter in London and the branches both in relation to Treaty and facultative or semi-automatic facilities, review reinsurers financial security for UKB needs in conjunction with HO, as necessary, perform other administrative tasks in relation to outwards reinsurance as and when required, carry out such Risk Management evaluations as may be applicable to Reinsurance, effectively liaise with all other Departments in order to ensure proper resource interaction in respect of the acquisition of prospective accounts and the satisfactory servicing of existing ones, carry out risk audits for Lines of Business within responsibility, as required.
The right individual will have sound knowledge of insurance and particularly reinsurance with reference to all lines of business particularly Property and Engineering; a good technical background and good working knowledge of claims handling. Knowledge of at least one foreign language.
