Our client, an Essex based Insurer, have an opening for an Underwriting Technician within their Fleet division. The successful applicant will provide a high quality and effective, technical and administrative support to Underwriters, working in the in department teams, liaising with underwriters and providing a prompt service using the company’s systems to meet brokers and clients needs.
Key Result Areas/ Responsibilities
1. Renewal Preparation
To effectively use the company’s systems to prepare policy and claims data for Underwriters, adhering to internal procedures, policy and timescale, to quote for forthcoming year,
2. New Business
Production of policy documents and certificates for all new business written adhering to internal procedures and policy, within stated timescales, ensuring service levels are maintained as per the Underwriting Business Plan.
3. Renewals Debiting
Production of policy documents and certificates for all new business written adhering to internal procedures and policy, within stated timescales, ensuring service levels are maintained as per the Underwriting Business Plan.
4. Adjustments
Updating policies, producing new certificates and endorsements/schedules to meet individual client needs, adhering to service standards as per the Underwriting Business Plan – in a timely manner and to ensure up to date policy records at all times.
5. Renewals Chasing
To ensure that all policies due for renewal are chased so that policies can be renewed or lapsed ensuring that policy records are maintained and action take where necessary.
6. Administration
All associated administration and housekeeping duties in relation to the timely and accurate processing and recording of all business written in the Underwriting area, to include structure of files, scanning, quote logging etc which must be both timely and accurate to ensure the meeting of business plan objectives and underwriting service standards.
The right individual will have a minimum 2 years insurance experience providing technical and administrative support within the motor / motor fleet area; experience gained in either a syndicate or Lloyd’s brokers; experience in new business processing, adjustments, renewal and policy issuance; use of computerised systems to process policies and documentation; fast accurate data entry and processing skills; good time and task management; organised, confident and meticulous with an enquiring mind, be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, keen with enthusiasm and drive. Flexible in all working practices. Mature approach, able to see wider business implications.
