Our client, a highly regarded multi-national insurer, have a new vacancy within their compliance division. This position will hold responsibility for embedding compliance and undertaking compliance monitoring across all offices outside the UK.


General Description


Develop, in conjunction with the Compliance Manager, a compliance strategy for Europe
to ensure that a compliance culture is embedded across all Europe offices and
compliance with FSA (UK) and local regulatory requirements, and the group and EO
requirements is achieved on an ongoing basis.

Monitor regulatory developments, in particular those across Europe, and promote team
and management awareness, co-ordinate response to proposed regulatory changes and
ensure EO responds where appropriate and that controls are implemented across Europe
to ensure local regulatory changes are met.

Through local visits, monitor and assess ongoing compliance with FSA and local
regulatory requirements to ensure licenses are maintained and regulatory requirements
are met.

Recognise and assess potential risks to objectives and where appropriate take action to
remove or reduce impact or probability of the risk occurring, and report as appropriate
and undertake formal risk or control assessments (if relevant)

Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key internal (e.g. Europe
offices) and external (e.g. regulators) business stakeholders to ensure that service
delivery meets the business’s expectations.



Essential Requirements

Professionally qualified. ACII or equivalent

Significant experience in a senior compliance role within an insurance company
and/or

Significant experience in a senior supervision or policy role within a regulatory
authority

Awareness of other relevant regulatory regimes (e.g. Middle East)
