Exciting opportunity to join a well known and respected insurance company who are looking to grow and need someone to join them in this key strategic role.
Working closely with the Regional Underwriting team the role will involve developing and managing profitable growth of commercial business within the Region and providing effective support for other departments as necessary.
The role will involve oromoting the company’s distribution strategy and philosophy so as to maximise the opportunities for growth and profit of the commercial business by regular visits to Brokers’ premises; managing partnerships with key brokers to ensure achievement of agreed business targets; taking responsibility for management of nominated key brokers as required; attendance of meetings, corporate functions and seminars as required; working in partnership with underwriters to identify profitable underwriting opportunities; obtaining market information and feedback from Brokers and assist with Market Research for product development as required; liaising with associated business functions and provide support as required; assessing new Agency Applications in conjunction with the Agency Department within the Company's strict selection criteria; regularly monitoring and reviewing the existing Agency panel within the geographical area to assess potential, creditworthiness and cost effectiveness; acting as an integral part of the Regional, National and Corporate team.
The right individual must / will be
Required to make relationships at director level with major brokers as well as with business staff at all levels.
Able to apply project management skills to business development projects and be capable of a disciplined approach to Broker Relationship Management.
Be a self-starter who can also function well as part of a team and capable of forming excellent relationships within the organisation.
Required to attend evening functions and weekends as required and be of a sociable and personable nature.
Excellent communications skills required. PC skills very desirable.
