The role is responsible for underwriting inward direct and reinsurance business within the authority attributed and following all insurance and reinsurance related aspects of major business underwritten liasing with major client/cedant on one side and with the retrocessionaires on the other. You will also act as a first level guidance and as a supervisor for junior colleagues and assist the department manager in all management functions which are related to underwriting, business strategy, reinsurance, commercial relationships, personnel evaluation, job procedures enhancement, underwriting and reinsurance compliance, facultative and contractual retrocessions.


The right individual must have: sound knowledge of insurance and reinsurance with reference to all class of business underwritten by the department with particular focus on largest and most complex accounts; good technical underwriting background (engineering background essential); good knowledge of the engineering market at international level; knowledge of at least one foreign language; working knowledge of Microsoft Office application package (Words/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
