A highly respected Insurance company seek a Product Development Manager to assist with their wordings. They require a candidate with a company insurance background in either Financial Lines, Property or Casualty. Candidates will ideally have a wordings background, but applicants with claims or broking backgrounds would also be considered.


This role will support Product Counsel within the Legal department and there are lots of opportunities for development on the job. If candidates can speak either Italian, German or Dutch this would be an advantage. A law degree would also be an advantage.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


1. Responsible for confirming the scope / details of new work assignments with the Underwriters and liaising with PD Administrator and PD Counsel


2. Obtaining and collating competitor wordings and preparing coverage matrixes


3. Updating Master Coverage Matrix and liaising with Continental Underwriters for input


4. Preparing initial drafts of policies / clauses and providing an initial review / comments of policies / clauses as requested by PD Counsel, including:
a. organising the policy into sections
b. organising standard and general definitions and coverage / exclusions
c. rationalising use of definitions
d. comparing sections against applicable current approved standard sections and highlighting differences.


5. Responsible for updating and maintaining the Legal Department’s outputs, including the Policy Document Drafting and Maintenance User Manual, as requested.


6. Responsible for updating master Coverage Matrix summarising and comparing all company products by class across all branches.


7. Responsible for supporting due diligence reviews of new products / new territories by gathering legal and regulatory research and materials and reviewing in consultation with Product Counsel.
