Responsible for supporting the achievement of the business unit's required income and profit objectives by managing the operational performance of office based underwriting and support staff the role involves: managing and leading direct reports, creating a positive and professional team spirit; maintaining a robust management systems framework for financial reporting, regulatory reporting and a workflow measurement; maintaining a comprehensive personal development programme and working closely with group technical, claims, sales product development and IT colleagues to identify and secure new coverholder opportunities, enhance existing products and improve business processes.


The right individual can come from either a broking or underwriting background but should have strong operational experience, excellent customer service skills and have a good understanding of UK commercial insurance business.
