An Essex based broker have a new & exciting opportunity for an Account Manager. You will be responsible for managing a small portfolio of key clients, ensuring that service is delivered in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and the overall business objectives are achieved within the prevailing regulatory framework.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


Client Relationships
Manage and develop strong relationships with clients from implementation/inception onwards, delivering service in accordance with the SLA.
Scheduled review meetings, providing documentation and input to Account Director and attending meetings as required
Maintain a complete understanding of each Client Action Plan and liaise with Account Director, at the appropriate times
Issue appropriate information to Account Director for inclusion in renewal discussions and Development Manager for new business
Be aware of key clients and prioritise work accordingly


Broking
Broke new and existing business to insurers and provide scheme quotations for Development Manager and Account Director as appropriate
Monitor performance of Insurers against service standards and liaise with Head of Operations
Negotiation
Negotiate premium and cover terns with insurers.


Technical
Maintain a complete and thorough knowledge of all policy wordings and covers utilized by the company
Utilise expertise and liaise with other departments on cover, insurance industry best practice, claims handling, etc
Act as technical referral point for policy cover & strive to enhance products available to clients at every opportunity.
Prepare policy documentation and other documentation in accordance with company procedures and Financial Services Authority regulations.
Ensure all account information files are maintained and up to date and documentation uploaded to website as directed
Monitor performance of accounts against budget and ensure the agreed budget is met wherever possible, whilst treating the customer fairly at all times.
Manage and deliver relevant MI to clients and colleagues as required.
Deal with client questions and requests promptly and accurately in accordance with the SLA.
Maintain awareness of competitors’ activity, products and pricing and share relevant information with colleagues.
Prepare renewal presentations and client renewal reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
Ensure client & insurer outstanding matters are regularly reviewed, updated and resolved in a timely manner.
Maintain a strict diary and keep actions up to date.
Ensure subjectivities on all Insurer terms are accurately reported to clients and Development Manager/Account Director verbally and in documentation as appropriate
Maintain and enhance own knowledge and skills through keeping up to date with insurance and housing publications and personally identifying training needs
Coach and assist colleagues as appropriate.
Maintain and communicate to Head of Operations a matrix of insurer payment terms and manage the issue of insurer placement bordereaux
Prepare and debit premiums promptly and oversee credit control.
Deal with outstanding debts in accordance with the appropriate criteria/procedure
Any other duty, task or responsibility which may reasonably be delegated from time-to-time.


Technical Skills Required
Good general knowledge of the insurance business
Excellent knowledge of insurance principles, covers and wordings
Good knowledge of the social housing sector
Complete knowledge and understanding of FSA requirements and other compliance matters
Good communication skills
Good report writing skills
Good negotiation skills
High level of numeracy and literacy
Good level of PC skills (including MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
