An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Reinsurance Treaty Technician to join the specialist Technical Services team. As a Reinsurance Treaty Technician, you will be responsible for technical reinsurance processing and administration of proportional treaty accounts, premium adjustments, and XOL claims in accordance with slip conditions and company procedures. You will also assist with the collection of funds and provide broker support where required.
Technical Services is a highly professional and vitally important team, providing exceptional service to both external and internal stakeholders. The team consists of experienced professionals focusing on a variety of lines of business ranging from Aviation and Marine to Proportional and Non-Proportional Treaty. They are responsible for all post-bind processing, including risk and premium processing, issuance of client documentation, submission to the London Market bureaux, liaison with brokers, monitoring of paid and unpaid premiums, and electronic filing. The team also uses Tableau daily to monitor workflow and ensure key performance indicators are met.
Key Accountabilities IncludeTreaty accounts processing
XOL claims
Credit control
Management information and support
Knowledge of Treaty Technical Processing (mainly proportional treaty accounts) within a broker, underwriting, or bureau environment
Understanding of reinsurance claims, premiums (Excess of Loss – XOL / Proportional Claims), and credit control
Familiarity with the Lloyd’s / London insurance market
Technical insurance knowledge to Cert CII level or equivalent experience
Awareness of FCA regulations
Strong IT literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Knowledge of OpenTWINS or similar systems
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent communication abilities
