An insurance business based in the City of London is seeking a qualified accountant to join their financial control and reporting team on a contract basis to cover a maternity leave.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to join a growing London Insurer with Lloyd’s and Company market insurance platforms.
Reporting to the Financial Controller the successful applicant will contribute to the quarterly close and US GAAP reporting process, contribute to balance sheet reconciliation and controls processes, coordinate reporting requirements to Ireland for Group Insurance Company for EU based risks, prepare relevant accounting policy memos when required (following acquisitions, change in accounting policy, etc), provide technical accounting support to the finance team, liaise with tax team to ensure accurate accounting of tax balances, contribute to the preparation of annual reports and regulatory returns, contribute to the successful delivery of the integration project, including identification, prioritisation and execution of integration tasks, drive process improvement across the finance division, produce relevant and proactive analysis to assist key stakeholders in management of the P&L and contribute to the development and enhancement of the control environment for the Finance Team.
Applicants must be qualified accountants with strong technical accounting skills and understanding of US GAAP, UK GAAP, Lloyd’s reporting and Solvency II and preferably previous financial reporting experience within insurance or Big 4 equivalent.
