A unique job opportunity is currently available working for a prestigious Insurance company in their growing Underwriting Liaison team

The Underwriting Liaison & Strategic Insights team are looking to hire a permanent Insurance Underwriting Liaison to join the team to work closely with the Underwriters to help inform and influence better underwriting decisions supported by data & analytics all of which complement and support the company's strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

Your key objective will be to liaise closely with the Insurance Underwriting team to inform and influence the make up of the portfolio and make data driven decisions to help create a competitive advantage.

Specifically, this will involve 3 main types of activities:

Portfolio Planning – 40% of time
• Work hand in hand with the underwriting teams during business planning to define, capture & challenge their target gross portfolio for the next underwriting year & beyond

Strategic Insights – 40% of time
• Perform actual vs expected analysis on the portfolio as we go through the year and draft material to communicate this to the Insurance CUO office and senior stakeholders

Strategic Projects - ad hoc – 20% of time
• Support and contribute to various strategic projects  impact Insurance Underwriting

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Essential
• At least 5 years of experience in the Insurance industry
• Good analytical capabilities and strong data skills (logic and structure)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to solve problems and identify practical solutions
• Proven ability to work with speed and accuracy and to prioritise and organise effectively
• Proven experience of building and maintaining good working relationships
• Ability to influence decisions supported by data analytics

Desired
• Education to Bachelors’ degree level preferred
• Actuarial/financial/statistical/modelling experience a plus
• Experience in tools such as Power BI, R, Python a plus
• Business planning experience beneficial but not essential
• Experience with producing communication for senior stakeholders
