A reputable Global Insurance Organisation are currently recruiting for a UK Head of Compliance to implement a new compliance framework and manage all things compliance for the X3 UK companies within the group.
The ideal candidate will have held SMF16 functions previously, have implemented a Compliance Framework and have managed a team within an Insurance organisation.
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure that the business continues to meet its regulatory obligations. To be a trusted business partner with the capacity to get things done through collaboration, effective communication, and persuasion.
Leading the UK Compliance team in delivering high-quality compliance advice, oversight and challenge to the business as well as performing the Compliance Oversight Reporting function (SMF16).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the Compliance Team in delivering and maintaining a Compliance Framework including a programme of monitoring, that reviews operational business activity to assess that all regulatory requirements are being complied with.
• Provide advice and assistance to the Board and staff to help them meet their regulatory responsibilities
• Provide analysis, horizon scanning and early warning of regulatory change which may impact the Company.
• Provide reporting to the Board, and senior management as appropriate, on where the Company currently sits with their regulatory compliance.
• Ensure the Company’s compliance policies and procedures are kept up to date; that they are appropriate, proportionate and understood by the business, driving the right compliant behaviours.
• Ensure the firm's regulatory permissions for its activities are accurate and up to date.
• Oversee the completion and submission of the firm's regulatory returns and Regulatory proposals and approvals.
• Help raise awareness of the regulations and industry standards which apply to the Company and associated entities.
• Responsible for the SMF16 Compliance Oversight Reporting Function including relevant prescribed responsibilities for the role.
• To maintain compliance with any applicable UK or International statutory or regulatory obligation as required by the role. This includes but not limited to obligations arising from:
? The prudent management of the business.
? Placing due regard on the interests of customers.
? Observing rules on Sanctions and financial crime.
? Regulatory requirements and local licensing restrictions.
EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience of working in a similar senior position in Compliance and managing a team
• At least 5 year's FCA regulated compliance experience, including managing a team.
• Must have held the SMF16 (CF10) functions previously
• Experience of working in the insurance sector
